The King’s Head gluten free, Teddington
The King’s Head in Teddington is a pub/restaurant run by White Brasserie Company and they create pubs with a nice feel (often in lovely historic buildings), serving French brasserie style food with an English twist.
I first discovered the chain through visiting The Queen’s Head in Weybridge and later we found the Teddington venue was a great place to meet friends who didn’t want to travel into London from the Home Counties. They have an a la carte menu (ask for gluten free/dairy free menu) and also a good value set menu which clearly marks the gluten free options (along with dairy free and vegetarian).
Below are some winter meals from the 2015 a la carte menu.
The roast pork was a step up from the traditional pub roast, and I worked my way through a lot of that crackling! The beef stroganoff is another lovely winter warmer with lots of sauce for the rice to soak up.
There is also a set menu available called ‘Dine with Wine’ and below shows the options when I visited.
The summer ‘Dine with Wine’ meal below is from 2014, but is a good indication of the fresh and seasonal produce that is used. I love a summery vegetable risotto and the celery soup was unexpectedly delicious! (I do like celery, but have never had it in a soup before!)
I haven’t taken any photos of the pub itself, but you can do a virtual tour online to get a feel for it. Teddington is in the London borough of Richmond upon Thames and has a village feel right by the river Thames.
The White Brasserie pub restaurants I have visited are very welcoming and are a good option for both casual or a more formal lunch/dinner and you can get really good value for money on the set menus.
Their current locations are Teddington, Weybridge, Guildford, Harrow, Orpington, Chobham, Cobham and Ruislip (more information on their website).
