La Trompette – Chiswick fine dining

By on June 12, 2015 in UK Restaurant Reviews with 0 Comments

La Trompette is a fine dining restaurant in Devonshire Road, a lovely Chiswick road with independent shops and restaurants, not far from Turnham Green tube station in West London.

I had advised my dietary requirements in advance and the maitre d’ ran through the menu with me when I arrived. There were plenty of options and modifications could easily be made to make something gluten free.

As you would expect in such an establishment, the service was impeccable and I was presented with a special canape that was safe for me to eat and also some gluten free bread.

All the food was delicious and the banana souffle was a real treat as a different dessert option to those that are commonly offered to the gluten free diner (usually a chocolate brownie or fruit leading to the coeliac hashtag of #fruitisnotadessert).  The cheeseboard is also amazing for a £5 supplement.

Rather than each dish being individually priced, the dinner menu is three courses for £47.50 which I think was pretty reasonable for the quality of the food. You of course end up spending a lot more having a few drinks with your meal! The menu changes seasonally, and you can see recent examples online.  The lunch menu Monday to Saturday is £29.50 for three courses, or £24.50 for two courses.  All prices are available on their website.

I would highly recommend La Trompette for a special occasion meal where you can relax and enjoy the food and wine in a lovely environment.
