Northern England 100% gluten free updates – Oct 2018

A number of changes have been made to the  Northern England 100% gluten free post over the last few months.  Sadly, El Piano in York closed after 20 years of trading, however there is some good news with some new openings!

2 Oxford Place – York

Previously in Leeds, they reopened in York in March 2018. Open for brunch, lunch, coffee, cake & wine as well as dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Bohemia Yoga Cafe – Redcar

Vegetarian/vegan gluten free café serving breakfast, lunch and desserts.
Thanks to Forever Free From 100% GF UK Maps for telling us about this venue.

Thingy Ma Jigs  – Guisborough

A cafe with sweet and savoury options and also catering for vegan and dairy free.  A big plus is that it is also dog friendly!

GF2GO – events around the north and Wales

A mobile food van is just what coeliacs need at events!  Check out their Facebook page for where they are.

Taylor’s of Cheshire Artisan Free From Bakery & Pie Makers

was previously known as Gluten free Pie Co.  You can find them in markets around Northwich and Macclesfield.

GFQ  – Huddersfield

This takeaway venue was 100% gluten free at the time of publishing, however has now been removed as they are no longer 100% gluten free. They remain Coeliac UK accredited.

Removed from listing

Gluten Free Food Products – ceased trading

El Piano (York) – ceased trading

The Walrus and Carpenter (Whitby) –  ceased trading

Wholesome Bakerwoman Bakery (Isle of Man) – ceased trading

JAM (Liverpool) – initially they were gluten free but were providing normal bread (so removed on that basis) and now the menu is showing just a few GF options

GFQ (Huddersfield) – see above, no longer 100% gluten free

Research is continually being undertaken to improve the all of the UK listings and there are currently many businesses that are being reviewed for inclusion, but please get in touch if you know of somewhere not listed!  London is the next list to have updates published.
