Repeat Offender – 100% gluten free in Elwood

Repeat Offender is a gluten free Latin-American style fusion tapas restaurant in Elwood.  The entire food menu is gluten free, with vegan and dairy free options.

The menu

The menu is designed to be shared and the dishes come out as they are cooked.

All the meals were delicious. We chose a mix of meat and vegetables and four dishes were plenty between two people. My husband wanted the barramundi tacos and I was thrilled when it came out fried, topped with slaw and a chipotle aioli. The kangaroo was perfectly cooked and plenty for two people and the patatas bravas was a lovely accompaniment. The lettuce cups aren’t on the current menu but I really enjoyed the crisp lettuce.

I think the lettuce cups used Fable which is a vegetarian mushroom product. It is currently used in a different menu item, and the menu notes the packaging has a ‘may contain traces of gluten’ statement on the back, but note that Coeliac Australia have confirmed this product is safe.

There are two dessert options but we were too full to try – at the time of writing there is a Chocolate Bomb and Candied Pumpkin on the menu.

Coffee and drinks

Repeat Offender serves coffee from 8am-12pm and has a comprehensive drinks menu (including cocktails). Look out for happy hour specials on social media! Please note that not all drinks are gluten free.

The restaurant is on a corner location overlooking Elwood Park and there are plenty of spots to soak up the sun on a summer’s day with the awnings up. There is also some outside seating if you have your dog with you.

Repeat Offender is a great option for gluten free in Elwood. Bookings are recommended.
