The Gluten Free Shop – Norfolk *closed*
The Gluten Free Shop in Norwich, Norfolk, opened nearly a year ago and is dedicated to gluten free products, but also catering for other ‘free from’ requirements such as egg free and dairy free.
There is no equivalent store in London, so when I was visiting Norwich I popped in to see it. It is a small shop, but it is jammed full of gluten free goodies, including breads, fresh cakes, biscuits, cereals, baking supplies, frozen products (such as ice cream, Clive’s pies, Amy’s Kitchen, Baked to Taste) and beer.
For me it was worth a visit just for the Wheat Free Bakery Direct products which I had been hearing a lot about on social media, and I grabbed some bagels and donuts to try (yum!!). The shelving below shows the fresh bread available – this is full on delivery days (Tuesdays and Fridays), but as I visited on a Sunday there was a bit less choice. (I found my longed for donuts in the freezer.)
The shop is now in the centre of Norwich above a gluten free cafe (these photos are from their previous location). If you follow them on Facebook, you get updates on the new items they are stocking.
