UK 100% gluten free – South East England

South East England – 100% gluten free

Welcome to this series of posts aiming to capture all the 100% gluten free venues in the UK.  This post covers Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, Sussex, Kent, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

South East UK area photo_opt

For other regions of the UK, including London, please see the UK 100% gluten free page.

The criteria I used for inclusion, was that the business has to be:

  • 100% gluten free food (ie no cross contamination risk), and
  • have its own outlet that you can visit, such as a shop, café or a stall at a market.

Use the headings below to jump to your preferred area.

The Compass Inn (Winsor)

*Early 2022 – this pub is no longer 100% Gluten free – apparently the new owners do still offer gluten free options*

This pub is owned by a gluten intolerant landlady who has made the menu entirely gluten free. Winsor is between Southhampton and the New Forest national park. If you also have a dog, it is a dream come true to have an entirely safe meal with your dog at your side as the pub is dog friendly too!

The food is traditional pub food at a good price.   You can see in the menu above there is a wide variety of meals and below is an example of a roast dinner and fish and chips.

You will also find plenty of dessert options (#fruitisnotadessert)!

Kitchen open 7 days for lunch and dinner.

Nibsy’s Coffee Shop (Reading)

Nibsy’s is a 100% gluten free café in Reading, a busy shopping and business area in Berkshire.   Not surprisingly, it is run by a lady (Naomi Stoker) who is gluten intolerant herself.
